Energy transition through research and innovation!
Our modern and globalised society is dependent on energy on every level. However, only around 14% of the world's primary energy currently comes from renewable sources. Even in rich industrialised societies, the transformation to a greener energy supply is proving unexpectedly difficult. The enormous amount of resources and production required for the global expansion of renewable energies is overwhelming. However, there is no alternative to emission-free and safe energy sources in the long term. Can the solution therefore be to expand these plants or do we need completely new, disruptive approaches? In any case, provision, infrastructure and storage options must be fundamentally rethought in order to meet the challenges of the energy transition.
